Movies
There are many types of movies like Horror, Comedy and SiFy. I like most of them, the movies I do not lose my time watching are the ones related with romance and/or Horror. This time I chose one of my favorite movies called Slumdog Millionaire with Dev Patel and Freida Pinto. This movie is about a Mumbai teen who grew up in the slums, becomes a contestant on the Indian version of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" Then he is arrested under the suspicion of cheating because he had all the correct answers. While being interrogated, the events from his life history are shown and these events explain why he knows the answers. This makes the movie interesting and culturally exposed.
I chose this movie, not only because of the story, yet because of the cultural mixture that shows. It allows us to see how most of India's population lives in the slums, in poverty, hunger and lack of hygiene. In the movie we see little children running from kidnappers, drug dealers and fighting to survive, showing us the reality of India. Most of the movies are in very famous cities and countries like New York, in how many movies does New York appears? I could make a full New York City map only from movies. I believe in India they starve because they think, based on their religion, that every animal Is someone's soul. This is a fact but it does not make India a place where good things can happened like events, movies, artist etc. Movies like this, that shows the world the reality of a country should be more viewed and common in order to make the world a world. We have to stop thinking that we live for ourselves because it is not like that. Do not think in progress if it is only your progress.
